Overview
Cirrhosis is advanced scarring of the liver, usually the result of long-term damage from hepatitis, fatty liver disease, or alcohol use. While the scarring itself can't be reversed, modern care can slow progression, manage complications, and significantly improve quality of life.
Common symptoms
- Fatigue and weakness
- Easy bruising or bleeding
- Swelling in the legs (oedema) or abdomen (ascites)
- Jaundice
- Confusion or difficulty concentrating (hepatic encephalopathy)
When to see a doctor
If you have known liver disease, regular specialist follow-up is essential — even when you feel well. If you notice new swelling, confusion, vomiting blood, or worsening jaundice, seek care immediately.
How we help
We provide complete cirrhosis care: regular monitoring, screening for complications like varices and liver cancer, managing fluid retention, and coordinating advanced care when needed. Our goal is to keep you living well, for as long as possible.
